PART 4-I Put Laxatives in My Husband’s Coffee Before He Left for Work—But What Happened When He Came Home That Night Left Me Completely Speechless

A harmless medication had been placed inside an old prescription container with my name on it. Someone wanted me to believe I was losing my mind. I looked at Brad. “So you weren’t planning to leave me?” He shook his head. “No.” “You weren’t meeting Chloe because you loved her?” “No.” I looked at Chloe. She lowered her eyes. “I was helping him.” “For how long?” “Too long.” A painful silence followed. I still couldn’t forget the perfume. The lies. The late nights. The messages. Even if there had been an explanation, the betrayal had still happened. “You lied to me,” I told Brad. “I know.” “You made me feel crazy.” “I know.” “You let me believe I wasn’t enough.” Tears filled his eyes. “I was terrified.” “So was I.”

He nodded. “I should have trusted you.” “Yes.” “I should have told you everything.” “Yes.” “I am so sorry.” For the first time in months, I saw my husband without the excuses. Not the charming man in the blue shirt. Not the man with expensive cologne. Just Brad. Broken. Frightened. And finally honest. I didn’t forgive him immediately. Forgiveness isn’t a switch. It’s a door. And that day, I wasn’t ready to open it. But I was ready to stop running from the truth. The police arrived that evening. Daniel was found two days later. He had been staying in an abandoned property outside the city. The evidence on the hidden phone and the photographs was enough to connect him to the surveillance and threats. The case finally ended. But our marriage didn’t magically return to normal. For months, Brad went to therapy for his memory problems. I went too. Not because I was broken.
